Heyo to all of my fans out there who are staying up-to-date with my blog posts about what goes on in the life of a SEM Boarder.
For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Erin Pedler, I am 18 years old and have nearly finished my first year of uni, completing a degree in journalism and international relations.
The journey I took to get here was probably one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make and will most likely be one of the hardest situations I will ever deal with.
Having lived in a country town four hours from Adelaide all of my life, it made it very difficult to move away from all of my family and friends, who have supported me along the way.
I knew I couldn’t complete my uni studies if I was to continue living at home, but at the same time, making a decision as to where I was going to live was an issue in itself.
Fortunately, my Mum is great at bailing people up on the main street and having long drawn out conversations with them, which is how I landed myself here, at SEM. You could say the rest is history!
My blog posts will take you on a journey through this year, my first year of boarding at SEM, a residential college in Adelaide, and how living away from home has changed my life.
I will provide both my own opinions of how I have adapted to this very different environment, as well as those from other boarders, to provide a bigger perspective of what it’s really like.
Stay tuned, and enjoy the journey!
